LG Home Theatre meets Marantz Receiver

I was wondering if anyone has any input for me. I recently purchased a Marantz SR4600 digital receiver, and I trying to save money by using the speakers from my old system, an LG DA5630. The speakers can be used, as they are 8oHm, but I had to buy new wiring, since the LG system has a special plug on the end of the wires to plug into the receiver (not open wires). None of this is a problem, however when it comes to the sub I am a little lost. The wires that LG provides for the sub are not plugged into the sub, but rather they simply come out of the back end of it. It is not a powered sub, obviously. Can this in any way be used with my Marantz receiver, or do I need to go out and buy either a new powered sub, or an amplifier to route the sub I already have to my new receiver? Any help is greatly appreciated, as I would like to enjoy some new DVD's that I have recently burnt. Thanks

The best suggestion I can give would be to buy a new powered subwoofer. If you are going to use the LG speakers you wont need to spend much on a decent subwoofer.

Cheezedoodle,
Or you could get an amp to put on the sub you already have. Though, that may end up running you much more money than getting a new powered sub, depending on what you can find. Maybe check some local listings, try craigslist, or ebay, or whatever, you may be able to find something good. Heck, try freecycle.org... Someone may be giving something away that you could use as an amp...?
