LG BD390 Versus Samsung 3600 & Others

Looking for a player that can upload Netflix and has analog 5.1 outputs to take advantage of the new audio formats as my Onkyo receiver does not have internal decoding. I would also like a unit that can play home burned AVCHD, however, this feature seems to be hard to find. It appears that no player can meet all of these requirments, so my primary focus is on the Netflix and 5.1 analog outputs.

I am considering the following:

LG BD390 - Netflix and 5.1 analog outputs
Samsung BDP 3600 - Netflix and 5.1 outputs (bad reviews for reliability)
Panisonic BD80 - no Netflix or 5.1 outputs
Toshiba BDX2000- no Netflix or 5.1 outputs

Any thoughts on the LG versus the Samsung in particular? I have read some of the posts that were particularly negative regarding the Samsung.

Any other alternate suggestions, or reservations on the LG player.

I had an LG DVD player/recorder a while back. I never got around to recording with is, and within 6 months or so it began to play back DVD's erratically.

I recently purchased a LG BD370 and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I can't say how it does with home made DVDs yet put it does BD dics just fine. Frankly my advice is to wait on the BD player until you have a receiver with HDMI.

I've got the LG390. So far so good... they've recently added a few other sites that it can stream from.. I guess the only one that I've added for it to work with is Pandora Internet Radio. Netflix works fine, and my kids stream utube...grrr...
Overall I'm impressed witht he unit so far.

I was confused in my last post. Sorry. I've also got a ROKU player, and it is the one that got upgraded to add Pandora Internet Radio, not the LG390. Nonetheless, I do like the LG unit.

Bought the LG BD390.

Connected to an older Onkyo receiver using 5.1 analog cables and to my Toshiba 55" LED LCD via HDMI. I am very impressed with the picture quality and audio. The player's speaker set up test was helpful to ensure proper connection of the analog cables. My wife was suprised to see how much more detail can be see in the HD movies, as she was expecting little or no difference.

I have yet to test the Netflix download capability, but I was pleased to see that the player can handle home burned HD disks.

For my specific needs, this player seemed to be the best for the money.
