lfe input importance in sub

1.by saying it is the best way to connect you mean that it`ll have some sonic advantages( compare to the sugestion of setting the sub cross as high as possible when not having lfe))or it is just more covinient?

LFE from the receiver, to LFE to the sub will ensure you dont have any gaps in the sound which would otherwise have been created by the sub and/or speakers. You could get the SAME result by using the LR on the sub. You wont hear any better quality sound, but instead, ensuring your not missing anything from your equipment.

2.under which circumstances you choose to send full range to the sub, when listen to music or also in movies?

Set the sound how it sounds best and leave it alone..."set it...and forget it"

3.if i`m using small satilite speakers would it make diference for using the cross on the sub or bypassing it?

use the crossover on your receiver. Find out how low the satalites reproduce sound (down to what htz) and set your receiver to that. The rest of the sound, whatever your receiver is set to and below, will be sent out of the LFE out (on the back of the receiver) to the sub. If you use the LFE in (on the sub) your sound will be most accuratly reproduced (as your equipment can). If you use the LR in (on the sub), make sure your subwoofer htz controler is set above the setting you chose for your receiver. That will allow the full signal to be sent to your sub.

Hope this helps, if not, what kind of receiver do you have? one of us will tell you the best way to set it up. Understanding all this stuff is not THE most important thing...getting the best sound out of the equipment you have is!

thank you MR. LAMB FRIES ,this time i understood it well,
so you think i`ll be able to optimize the freq. with the same Accuracy with the LR as with the LFE ?
the reason i`m asking all that is becouse i have to decide between 2 subs i have a good offer for them, one have a lfe input but don`t have xover control at all,and the other have xover control(35-130) but don`t have lfe input,
i believe having a xover control is important,my dilema is if i have to do special efort to find a sub with lfe

my reciever is marantz sr 4600 which says that have variable xover, and says (when setting sreakers to "small") " freq.of the channel you are setting lower then approx.100 hz will be output from the sub"
is that means this it the Default filter cut?

onother thing is that i don`t know exactly what is the lowest freq. of my setilite sreakers(small yamaha setilites)if it`s above 130 hz ,and i`ll have to set the reciever freq. to this , i`ll have again problrm with the sub ability to "bypass" the xover since it goe`s only up to 130,and by setting the speakers above 130 will send all the rest to the sub and will make an a hole of missing freq.

Somehow, I think your expectations are a little too high for either of those subs.
