Well, the upgrade cascade has begun. I'm hoping to salvage something from my old setup for the new home theater.
The speakers in question are a pair of NHT SuperTwos. These are "bedroom" floorstanders that generate enough bass through downward-firing woofers for a small enclosure, but they won't fill a larger room. They are 12+ years old.
The new setup will be powered by an Onkyo 609. Viewing distance from TV is about 12 feet, but the room is a long, narrow bonus room. It's carpeted with a sloping ceiling.
Many questions for you pros/fanatics. Should I try to match these to a post-reorganization NHT center? Can I pair them with any subwoofer that I like? They still sound fine to my ear, but should I be worried that they're on their last legs?
I'd love to keep the Twos around, but I don't want to spend $$$ trying match them to other components only to wind up with a less-than-optimal situation. I would be grateful for any advice.
