Left channel noise?

My receiver has recently started acting up in the left front channel. Sometimes when I first play music, there’s a second or two with no sound. Then intermittently, the left front speaker sounds almost like it has a busted midrange. I know it’s not the speakers. It’s also not the cables, as it makes the same noises with CD, Turntable, or Bluetooth.

Is this just my receivers death rattle or Is there a possible fix?

Thanks in advance.

What receiver? You swapped speaker leads to make sure its not the speaker?

Yes, I swapped speakers. It’s only the left front channel. It’s not a cable connection issue either. It makes the crackling sound like a busted speaker whether it’s Phono, CD, or video, etc.
The receiver is a Sony STR-DE705

I just saw different inputs tried so had to ask from other angles. Input source isn't likely an issue IME, especially if they're all the same result. Hard to know where the problem lies beyond input stage. If you can't test it yourself with a service manual and appropriate tools sounds like a job for the pros or simply buying something else.....

Thanks for the advice. I’d like to save this old Sony. It’s a great old battle tank.

But I have been eyeballing Marantz receivers for while now.
