Look at Logitech Harmony remotes, they are really easy to set up.
You can find them at most electronic stores and plenty of places online.

Including the AH store. They are 15 percent off right now according to a post by the store this week.

That's what I use and I would recommend it. You can put any command from any device on any button or lcd page that you want. It is very flexible and can be set up in any way that you like.

It is RF capable too if you buy the MRF-250 basestation to go with it (between $60 and $90, depending on where you buy it).

The Harmony line gets my vote. MX line is more customizable, but more difficult to program. Can't go wrong either way really.

The Harmony is easy to program and simple to use. Probably the way to go for all the but the most diehard techie.

Any particular Harmony model you would recommend. I'm also looking for one for a budget under 200$

What do you want to do with the remote? What electronics do you want to control with it?

They all do the same basic tasks but there a few additional features when you move higher up in the models (compare some at logitech.com/harmony to see and learn about the differences). There used to be a walkthrough of how the remote works on that website but I am having trouble finding it.

As for the price you can normally get them for less on Ebay. Also look in the Deals forum, I have seen members post some deals for Harmony remotes there before.

Harmony 659 goes for about 90 on amazon and if you have a DVR you might like the 670 on sale at AH for about 119 shipped with the ReMOTE15 discount.

The only problem with the 670 (which I own) is how quickly it burns through batteries. I'm replacing 4 AAAs at least once a month. The 880, which can be found on ebay for around $100, is rechargable and comes with a docking station. I would look into that one as well.

It's a little more than your stated budget, but the Harmony One is a fantastic remote.

Just got the URC RF 30 & the RF base for under $100 off amazon. I really like the build quality and layout. Much sturdier than the Harmony. Still tweaking it but no real problems so far. Easy to program and very flexible. Lots of info on programming on the remote central.com site if you run into problems.
