Folks, I once again made it to the theater to see this film. As expected, Will Ferrell was quite funny. The audio effects were recorded well. For example, you can hear and feel the steps of the T-Rex. I always find that kind of cool.:cool: At times, I found myself laughing quite a lot. Conversely, I also found myself quite bored at times. All in all, I would have to give this movie a solid C+ at best. It is more fitting for a rental imho. ;):);)

Cheers,

Phil

Oh, I forgot to mention that the chick in the tight shorts is HOT!!!!!!!! Of course, they had to put some eye-candy in it.:D:eek: I am so glad they did. ;);) BTW, her name is Anna Friel and I just love her accent.

Cheers,

Phil

I was going to give this movie a pass because Will Ferrell’s characters never change he is like the same guy in every movie and its getting old, but I might wait until it hits Blu Ray and rent it.

Yeah, many of his movies are similar for sure. It can get old real quick. However, the movie is worth a rental imho. Anna Friel is such a hottie!!!!!!! ;):D;)

When I first heard there was going to be a Land of the Lost movie I thought it was going to be a modern update based on the TV series (which I of course remember because I watched it as a kid).

Then I see...starring Will Ferrell. It will probably suck because it will attempt to be a comedy while the TV series was not. Will Ferrell's type of humour will just be way out of place.

I'm actually kind of tired of him and I agree with Socio that he is pretty much the same guy in every movie. The last of his movies I saw was Semi-Pro and I can't believe I actually made it through the whole movie - it was easily the worst movie I have ever seen.

Land of the Lost never to be seen and Semi-Pro deleted from Netlix queue. Yeah, that's right. I take these reviews seriously.

Thanks guys. :)

Just to cut Will Ferrel some slack I'll say that I enjoyed the movie with Meryl Streep and his appearance in Wedding Crashers was classic.

Ma! The meatloaf! ... F^%&!!! :D

Does Phil recall anything about it other than the chick?:p

My sons went to see it. The older gave it about Phil's 'c'. The younger liked it as the humor was likely targeted at his age group. All you old guys missed the bus. My oldest son said it is destined for the $3.00 bin.

I couldn't get into Semi-Pro either. After the first 10-minutes or so I turned it off!:rolleyes: In other words, I feel your pain and can relate 100%. ;):p;)

I've read nothing but awful awful reviews about this movie. Since Congress no longer allows waterboarding, maybe we can just show this movie to the terrorists :).

Nothing wrong with stating your opinion. I for one, do NOT think the movie was that bad. At the very least, it is worth a rental imho. There were some very funny parts. :);):) However, there also were some lame ones. This, of course, is typical of Will Ferrell's movies. :p:eek::p

Based on the trailer it LOOKS like a "C" movie. Farrel has been hit or miss lately, just like Jack Black. I like Will, but not in every role. What is with them making this look like a comedy? The original wasn't a comedy, it was a kids show. I'll most likely netflix it also.

Sounds like a plan John. When you do see it, be sure to share your thoughts with us. Hope all is well my friend. :);):)

The Unthinkable

Imagine somebody recording this with a video camera from a theater seat. Yes that's right. A copy of that makes it to me and I actually watched it. The pic was so stretched out that I used zoom to view it. It was blurry and whenever the audience laughed, that I could hear like they were in my living room. It was beyond terrible. Normally I don't watch bootlegs because they ruin the audio and sometimes video but this movie had such a bad rap that I said why not.

Why not indeed. Because it sucks, that's why not. :D

I agree. I can't stand Will Ferrel. Wedding Crashers was a decent movie UNTIL WF showed up and ruined the whole rest of the movie. He's also busy destroying the 70's as an entire genre of movie.

This is how I feel.

Agreed, with one single exception.

Had any other actor been cast in that role, the meatloaf thing might have been funny. Instead, it was just WF stupidity at it's finest. I would have turned off the movie at that point but I wanted to see more of Isla Fisher. She single-handedly saved that movie.:)
