I have a PERFECT pair of 1.2's and I paid over $300.00 new, and they are much smaller. 1" horn tweeter, 6 1/2" woofer.

From Klipsch:

Detailed Description

The two-way KG Series KG 3.2 floorstanding loudspeaker was first introduced in 1992 and manufactured by Klipsch until 1994. While no longer in production, KG 3.2 model loudspeakers are still owned and listened to by Klipsch fans around the world as part of two-channel audio and home theater surround sound systems. To connect with other people who are passionate about audio and interested in Klipsch Classic products, visit one the several Klipsch Classic areas on our open forum bulletin board.

I would take no less than $300.00 for the pair if in good shape. Those 3.2's were built before Klipsch started making Best Buy junk (As did JBL, etc.) and have REAL veneer finish, not vinyl.

As a general rule, it is a good idea to search places like eBay to see the prices for which items have recently sold. At eBay, you need to sign in to do the "advanced" search of "completed listings only".

Take a look at the following two links, which are the only recent auctions for that model on eBay:

One pair sold for $112.50, the other pair had a starting bid of $175, and no one bid on them. If you could find a real sucker, then you might be able to sell them for the $300 that Gimpy Ric would want for them, but otherwise croseiv seems to be exactly right.

If that is not enough for you, then I suggest keeping them. Or you could give them away to a friend. That is what I have done with some equipment that lost too much of its monetary value to make me happy selling it. Of course, then you get nothing instead of something, but I like my friends.

I guess I'm a sucker for quality Klipsch speakers, not the "what they sell for at brick and morter, or epray"

I too have given several systems to friends and family, because I hate selling anything used.

What you pay new is not what you'll get used. It also depends on how old and what condition the speakers are in. Any dings and scratches will get you less money.

I did not say that they would not be a good buy at the current market value. I simply was saying what the current market value seems to be. I gave away a set of:

http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_5_1/carver51speakers.html

but without the subwoofer, to a friend who needed some speakers. The market value of them, at that time (and probably now) was such that they were typically a great deal used for the buyer, but not a very good deal for the seller. He was thrilled with them, as they were much better than anything he would have found on his own at a price that he could afford. I doubt he will ever upgrade (he is not an audioholic like me, so, of course, I upgraded ;)). I am now at a point where an upgrade would be too costly for me, so I plan on staying with my current speakers for life, unless I unexpectedly come into a substantial amount of money, or there is some great technological breakthrough with speakers such that they become great while being very inexpensive.

Anyway, I have owned some Klipsch KG series speakers (two different models), and I think they are generally a good value (for the buyer) at their current market value, provided one likes that "Klipsch" horn sound. They are not, of course, as good as the very expensive and huge "Heritage" speakers, like the Klipschorn or La Scala speakers. If you are a big Klipsch fan, I suggest saving your pennies for one of those models; you don't need expensive amplification at all to drive a Klipschorn; it just needs to be quiet. Of course, for someone who is not thrilled with horns, I recommend looking elsewhere.

worth $250-$300

You could probably sell them for $250-$300 if you are patient.
