OK, i finally have my Klipsch front soundstage hooked up as follows:
RC-62 center
RF-82 left/right mains
i am now completely sold on the idea of having voice-matched/sonic-matched speakers up front. prior to these, i had a polk center and boston towers for my main L/R. while the polk and boston's sounded good, they each sort of "did their own thing" with respect to how the sound was reproduced and presented to the listener. it was totally noticeable that there were separate speakers up front.
with the matched klipsch's, the sound is like a wall of sound from the front. the impact on my ears is that of a unified sound that cannot be as easily located in one speaker or the other. that is a very pleasing effect.
so, for anyone asking about your front LCR speakers, do yourself a favor and, at least, make sure your front 3 speakers are voice-match from the same manufacturer.
