Does anyone in this forum own the Klipsch VF35 that BB sells? I'm asking this because I bought a pair on Black Friday for $400 and I think that they are nice sounding speakers.

Even tough a lot of people consider that Klipsch are bright for me they are fine, apart from that there is a rumor that the VF line is Klipsch's cheapest line considering that the woofers grill can not be removed to conceal some cheap drivers.

Any info you have on that aspect please share it. Thanks

If I am not mistaken the Icon V series was actually designed by Klipsch specifically for Best Buy. I don't think any other dealer sales them. Its even been mentioned that Best Buy had some input as to the design (customers wanting thin, not too obtrusive and blends well with most decore, easy to drive with most average lower powered receivers, good price value (cheaper)).

The mid/woofer drivers are cheaper in most respects. They are a paper or poly type cone. Aluminum driver in the horn tweeter. The Cabinets are actually well put together, probably better than the Synergy Series. The crossovers are about as cheap as can be.

I personally have listened to the quiet a bit, and I don't really like them. They seem to me like they are missing something. "Slam" is the only thing I can think to call it. The mids don't seem to keep up with the tweeters. And to my ears, the center doesn't match well tonally with either of the two tower models, especially the VF-36. If I had these speakers I would do the center, bookshelf, and surrounds, and forget about the towers. But thats just me.

Thanks for the input klipschfan, and according to you which klipsch line would be a better replacement for the Icon series? Reference? Synergy?

To my ears, any of the other Klipsch lines sound better than the Icon V's. The synergy's only marginally, for most of the models (actually, a similar sound, but the towers with the dual 8's and the matching center does sound better than any of the Icon models to me.

I would go Reference if you can afford it.
