I'm really not sure what you're talking about. The reason those speakers have woofers off the floor is to maintain tight CtC spacing in the crossover region. There will always be a floor bounce no matter where you place the driver - only its frequency will change. Floor bounce is inevitable if there is a floor. Luckily our ears aren't very good at recognizing floor bounce so most speakers most certainly have it including each of the ones you measured.

The advantage of putting a woofer near the floor is that you get boundary gain which reduces the amount of BSC needed. The more relevant advantage is that the floor bounce frequency will differ from that of any woofers near the tweeter - smoothing out response and ;;;minimizing;;; floor bounce.

Also i'm not sure what you mean by 'likes a lot of JBL bass'. Are you implying that the LSR 6332s are not accurate?? This isn't 1975.
Have you heard those JBL LSR 6332's? No they are very accurate, how much are they each? Looks like $1500 each, with stands would put them right into the KEF R900 range.

Where are there plots, as I hate just text. Like to see the 5 Pt. Listening window, Off-Axis Plots, Phase/Imp. curves, THD+N, etc.
(forget the plots and then some, found them) -- they look excellent also.

Would need some stands for them for Fronts, but in honesty if Quincy Jones is not using them, I am not interested !!

Personally, I am not in love with Phase Plugs. When I look at the Magico Q5 I do not see any, KEF R Series also ... NONE.. and many other high-end speakers, why is that?

What do you think of them, and why?
Google them, so you can read about their purpose(s).

I think you will end up regretting if you didn't get the 203/2. If you can cut down on non life threatening expenses for a period of time would you be able to stretch to 5K.
You mean his cigarettes and liquor?:D;)

Hahaha:)

Yeah, our good friend can get those for $5,000/pr new or around $4K b-stock if available.

But where will it end, says his other half. :D

If she likes r2d2 he will have a good fighting chance. If I were in the US the decision would have been simple, 205/2,...ok may be 203/2.

If you were in the US, you could get the 205/2 b-stock w/ full warranty for $6K/pr.

Got the 207/2, almost I did. That close to buying I was, says Yoda.:D

Peng, we all have to have a CAP on the Budget :)

Heck, I started out at $2K, and am now at $3.5K for the R900 Front Mains, and now you want me to get 203/2's, OUCH.:D

At $3.5K could have built one fine 16 x 20' Custom Shed, with 2 x 6", big door for Mower... you know, now only two small R900's and no shed, Ugh...

If I only had Canadian $'s to purchase them, it would go farther for sure. Send us some of that Monopoly money down to us, ok?

These are all life-threatening vices, you know, One Must Live and as Peng says only Once, but Liquor gives me only a headache. :D

Without all your Upgraditis, you could actually Live with just one Pair of Front Towers, and eliminate your Shower Speakers. :):D

You keep this up, Peng/Grant and I will have to have an Intervention with you.

Peng, do you have any KEF dealers there by you where you can audition either the Q's, R's, or Reference Series?

Listening to these you might get closer to that Concert Hall. :):D

I did email them and then a dealer phoned me but his prices were way too high for me. I cannot stretch my budget that much so I have now given up on the 200 KEF series. The R series could be more affordable even in Canada but I do not prefer their squarish looks. Thanks for the info anyway.

Some good things come in a squarish box, like diamonds. ;)

Seems everything today is somewhat rectangular or squarish, HDTV, TV Stand, Bookshelves, AV Rack, etc. That way the speakers will align with all the rest of the stuff.:D
