I am thinking of buying the kef's Q series. I know the q900 are better but, I don't want to over do it.. the seating positions in my room will be 12 feet away from where the speakers will be. also, people might sit closer than that, the side sofa it about 7 feet away from the speakers. Most of the times though, people will be seated 12 feet Away. I want to get a speaker that will sound good with out being too exaggerated, and I wont be able to get the proper quality sound because I'm sitting too close. for the centers, I already have the Q200, and I have a

So What I really want to know is if that is really something to worry about, or is it all just nonsense?

If you have a solid subwoofer, I don't think there is a large advantage to spending the extra money. If you do not have the sub, then the larger drivers will help with better low end response. Other than that is should not make much of a difference.

I have a definitive technology sub, it seems to work fine.. but if I get the q900 will I feel the bass even more?

btw, I was very close to buy the PSB t6 speakers, how do you like them?

I like them, I use them mainly for HT and the do a great job for that, I prefer my Quarts for music.

I don't think the larger speaker will give you better or more bass, you will want to cross them over anyway with you sub most likely so the sub will be doing the majority of the low end.

Of course, buy the Q900 for about $1280/pr delivered.

The Q900 has been reviewed/ measured by both HTM & Stereophile. The Q700 has not been independently measured by anyone. You could assume, but why?
