Greetings all. I'm new to these forums but I have been browsing through them for a while now.

I know that this is a place to discuss HTs but I hope you don't mind me going slightly off-topic to discuss my home recording studio needs. Well, I'm in the market for some new monitors for my set-up and I have my eyes on two speakers, which are mentioned in my title. I have heard many praising reviews of both but I am undecided as to which is in-fact the better quality speaker.

Does anyone own, or has heard any of the two? I am aware that they are in a similar price band (£3000-£4000), so it'll only be wise for me to do my research before I make my decision. I would love for the opportunity to audition them for myself but unfortunately I have no store which stock them near me. Please offer me any input and your recommendations as it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

:)

Looks like no-one has come across these speakers? Personally, I'm leaning more towards the Eclipses as they look gorgeous. And the single driver aspect seems interesting. Still open to opinions if you have any.

Cheers

I'm going to bump this thread until someone reads it that can help, if you don't mind. I know they aren't popular speakers but surely there are people out there who have used them before.

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Thanks

WmAx or Avaserfi can offer a better conclusion of performance than I can, but for your needs, I would seriously recommend the 201/2 over the TD712z for a studio monitor.

Looking at the objective data from reviews of both (KEF and Eclipse), the 201/2 appears to be able to provide much less coloration than the TD712z.

I haven't heard either speaker so I can't be of any help on which is better. I just thought that I would let you know that there is a pair of the Eclipses on Audiogon right now for $2000 and the seller seems willing to ship overseas.
