Is what my new sub says. I finally (mostly) finished up my first DIY sub, a Kappa Perfect 12.1. It doesn't look so hot, but boy does it rock the house!

The front of the box got a little chewed up when I realized I made the driver hole just a hair to small and had to dig out my dremel to make it fit. I'll get around to sanding/repainting eventually. I'm also waiting on a bigger amp, it should be here next week.

Just for grins, here's a "before" pic taken last summer. I'm really enjoying my small, but growing collection of AV gear.

Where did you get the plans for that? I am wondering because the port looks really tiny.

That's the port size that WinISD recommended. I don't recall the length, but it is 2"x6".

That port is not of sufficient size to prevent port compression at medium to high SPL. If you are interested in achieving optimal performance it is recommended to use about 36 square inches cross sectional area for the port.

I did consider that cabinet design, but the dimensions just didn't work for where I had to put the sub. I will be moving this summer and I will have more room for my set up, I might build another sub then. I had a lot of fun building this sub, and it sounds about a million times better then my cheapo dayton did.
