I am a sucker for any unwanted vintage equipment I see when my wife and I go estate sale shopping. This Saturday I stumbled upon a dusty old JVC R-X44 just sitting in the dust; the price tag said $5.00 and the owner said it worked years ago when he put it into the garage. He looked honest and I couldn't say no.
I got the unit home and did the cleanup on the patio; outside cleaned up pretty well and a vacuum job is next. My question is this: the unit runs just fine once the pots were rotated and sprayed etc. The unit just runs warm to the touch in one spot. For those of you who are familiar with this unit, it is warm front left if you are facing the unit. Not warm over the transformer or the heat sinks but in front of them. This may be normal and that is why I am asking.
I'm new to this room and I certainly would appreciate your input on this.
