Does anyone know anything about the JVC RXD digital amps? I was considering a sonic impact T-amp to power some old Klipsch towers, but then I saw the JVC RXD 202 for very cheap. I don't need many hookups, just a cable box and dvd player. any info would be appreciated.

For the short period of time (2-weeks or so) I played with it, the RXD-202/201 ran very hot. If you search around the net you will find numerous complaints about the heat issue. Also, I find the built quality to be very flimpsy, and I was not happy with the sound quality. It made my Athena AS-B1s sound overly boomy (relative to the Pioneer 1014TX receiver). I ended up returning it and replaced it with the Onkyo TX-LR552 digital receiver (got it on clearance at Fry's for $99).

You may want to try for the Panasonic XR-55 which is not much more expensive (around $230 shipped), if you are set on a digital receiver.

The reviews aren't stellar on the JVC, but for $110 I'm contemplating it.
