Well I just entered the tablet world with an ASUS Eee Pad Transformer from Newegg. You can get a $30 gift card right now too. Looking forward to messing with it. Wanted something for travel, my 17 in Dell is to big, especially when I pack all the camera gear I can. Was thinking smart phone, but not really a big phone person and didn't was to spend $$$ every month. Then decided a TAB would suite me better, one with wifi and 3g, but in the end decided on just a wifi one.

Congrats, I can't wait for your review! Did you ever used android before?
Did you get the keyboard as well - I think it's optional ....

No, I have no experience really in the Android market. I haven't ordered the Keyboard, yet, but might. It goes for $150.

I've been using android for about year and half. Went thru 5-6 ROMs (OSes) and a metric crap ton of apps  Aslo rooted and flashed Nook Color with 3rd party ROM...
I'm not an expert, but I know thing or two ;)
If you have questions - go ahead and ask

Well so far so good. I have had it for almost 24 hours now, and I am pretty much loving it. I have nothing to compare it to, but it seems pretty fast and slick. Still exploring. :)

AGreed.... made the move from Iphone to Thunderbolt & Nook Color both running Android.... Once rooted, and using different ROMS - its like night and day in comparison to the "locked in a safe" apple products or OS's...

Good luck with your new tool...

Here is a good thread for starters...

Once rooted - you can choose a rom that will give you more flexibility, better battery savings and control, processor control and remove all the bloatware that is installed when purchased new....

Received the dock/keyboard today. It is a sweet set up. I made the decision to get the dock mainly for traveling with my camera gear. I still didn't have something to back up or unload my SD card and my CF card with, my Nikon D300s has both. So with the keyboard having a SD slot and I have a USB CF card reader I should be good to go...also have a 4 way USB hub coming, so I can run my external HD. And I have a 32 gig Micro SD card coming for the Transformer and a 32 gig SD card for the keyboard, so I will have 80 gigs. I will post a picture when its all complete. ;)

Very nice , Keyboard for Transformer makes perfect sense, otherwise it's just regular 10" android tablet :D
In addition to mentioned pro's there is one more, arguably most important - keyboard for xformer has extra battery built in.

That's a cool looking combination! You're making me second guess my purchase of the 11" Air. :) I hadn't seen a keyboard that could transform a tablet into a laptop. Excellent choice!

Agreed, I didn't even look at it until now, it really is pretty cool, and has HDMI out to connect to a larger screen if necessary...

I assume the keyboard doesn't fold closed like that laptop, and its really just a docking station that separates y/n...?

That is really cool.... Great looking product

So it locks into the keyboard ? is there some sort of release to get the tablet off of it then...?

:) Yes it quickly disconnects with the little silver latch under where the angry birds are.
