just curious, why can't you use L/R speakers for surround speakers?

does anyone know of any pre-made stands to put tower speakers on? cos i'm really bad at hardware. my mom used to be, but she hasn't done it in a while, so i'm not sure if she remembers how to.

Before you go out and spend money on stands, try using a milkcrate, solid box, or end table to see if you like how it sounds at different heights. Once that height is determined you can always find a small table or an old speaker cabinet to use. Get creative and find something solid that you are happy with the way it looks. For what you're likely to have to pay for nice speaker stands that can support your floorstanders weight, you could just go out and buy surrounds and mount them on the wall.
