So opening christmas presents yesterday and my in laws bought me the SACDs I had on my amazon wish list...almost.
Mother in law actually PRINTED the amazon list and took it to walmart and bought 4 of the discs, as CDs.
To top this off then my mother and father in law then chastise me for not being willing to shop at walmart since they were able to get the discs for half of what I was going to pay from amazon.
This isn't the first time she's done this. We've ended up with duplicate items because she refuses to just press the fricking buy button next to the item. It's not like she can't use a computer. She buys stuff from ebay all the time.
Of course if I try and explain the differences then I'm the ungrateful bad guy who ruined christmas!

Yes I should just be thankful and all that, but what the hell this is the steam vent not the "lets be grateful for crap you don't really want" thread.

Well its the thought that counts right? :p

I'd just exchange them for other cds you don't have at Wal Mart.

I'd just return them and get two of the SACDs that you wanted. :)

I hear ya, though. That's gotta be frustrating.

... and with all the money that she saved by not getting you what you wanted she will be able to pay for the things that she wants ... you ungrateful bastard. :D

Not to completely hijack this thread but I thought I would mention stuff that I got that just seems off even though I liked it ... a bathroom scale and a nose hair trimmer. :D

I have been wanting a scale. This one is cool with that glass platform. I have been wanting a nose hair trimmer but mostly for my ears. Hair is just so not suppose to grow there ... but it does!

So the message is that I am fat and hairy but the gifts are cool.

Bad gifts? Okay... as some of you know, I love to cook. I'm not a chef, just someone who like to cook. I do have a fairly nice chef's jacket that I were when I do charity events and what not, but I don't wear the hat as I believe that's for real chef's only.

Anyway, as gift, I got the big poofy chef pants with the stupid design on them, a poly/cotten shortsleeve jacket commiserate with what a dishwasher might wear at a medium grade restaurant, and a stupid Muppets Swedish Chef Hat. Why? I don't know. It's like my brother has no clue who I am. I would never in a million years wear pants like that... the baggy body builder style goofy as pants that they are like a lot of the corny chef's stuff you can buy.

Hell I can't even wear them as PJ pants because the polyester would itch my bits all night.

Ahahahaha, that made my laugh out loud.

I got some t-shirts given to me, like a hint my shirts are nasty haha.

The scale and nose hair timmer are too funny.

It Could Have Been Worse

At least the picture of that trimmer was taken next to a "facial orifice".
