Just bought Panasonic VT25 Plasma, question about connections?

I finally made the jump and ordered my new VT25 yesterday. Question about the Ethernet over the HDMI. I will be hooking the TV up to a Panasonic Bluray player(DMPBDT100, got it for free). Will the Bluray player share the Internet connection with the TV? It will be hooked up directly to the Bluray player. Of course I just bought a new receiver last year and it's HDMI 1.3. So for the time being the audio will have to be sent to the receiver using and optical cable(til the new OppO Bluray player comes out).

The TV is about 18 feet from where all my components are, that is also where my ethernet switch is. I can run the additional cables, but would be great if I didn't have too.

Also, will the TV send the audio from the TV(Vierra cast) to the bluray, then through the optical cable to the receiver?

Do the devices just know or is there settings?

One last thing, do you have to use an HDMI 1.4 cable from the PS3 to the TV to get 3D? Or is the 1.3 cable that I already have going to work and just pass-through my receiver?

Sorry for all the questions!:D

No, both the TV and BRP well have a Ethernet port. I use a wifi dongle for internet connection. I would do a firmware upgrade as soon as you get your TV online.

If I switch to Vierra Cast on the TV (Toslink from TV to AVR) the sound stays with the channel on the sat box. My work around is to use my Panasonice BRP (HDMI from BRP to AVR to TV)for Vierra Cast. I have a 1.4 AVR so that may not work for you.

I assume you are going to run HDMI from the BRP to the TV with a Toslink from the BRP to the AVR? LMK if that works with Vierra Cast.
