have an opportunity to buy a complete JM Labs Mini Utopia consisting of four bookshelves (well a little larger then that, and heavier), center channel and subwoofer for around $7K. The retail on this system some years back was around $23K, and I had the opportunity sit down and listen and WOW. I am using will vincent tube amps to power the speakers (front, center) and a triode amp for the center, and the sub is self powered. I use a tube preamp and incredible cd transport. give me some input please

how might one consider this setup versus using the MK 5 MPS 2510 surround system with sub..i heard the jm labs and the staging was incredible and so was the range....never heard the higher end MK's though

For a complete JM Lab Utopia surround set at that price.... I can't imagine a better deal. At the very least, you can probably re-sell the stuff for more, if you decide you do not like it later on.
