You know even the JL Audio 8w7 and 10w7 have insane response.

I just modeled the 8w7 with Wmax's paramaters and it's even better than the modeled ones for extension.

I was able to model it to like 17 hz for an 8 inch:eek:

The 12w7 has an extremely high excursion and would be a sick sub. I modeled it in the Kappas box parameter and it had like 6db more.

I've fallen in love with a new set of subs. These things are gems IMO. I have no choice but to save up and build a pair of new speaker stands. I don't care if I loose money on the 12.1 drivers. I really like the potential of these JL Audio drivers.

The only drivers that match or outperform the W7's consistently are the TC Sounds/Audiopulse drivers. Usually the LMS equipped models like the AXIS and LMS units.

Considering the W7 design is now 6-7 years old  it is quite impressive it is still at or near the top of the heap in terms of woofer design. I wonder what JL has in the works to replace it  :D

You want a budget sub, honestly.... grab a Mal-X, put it in a 2' cubed box sealed with a large enough amp you can get..... amazing....

Just got all new amps for my setup... 4000w each and they'll scare the hell outta ya...

I wonder how many have been using JL Audio drivers in DIY. I would definately be interested to read more about it.

I just can't quench the thirst for bass with the MFW 15. I thought about getting another MFW 15 to see if it helps but I think I'll only come away disappointed. I need a stronger hit.....some one pass me the pipe:mad:
