Jeff Beck on Palladia

Just caught the new Jeff Beck concert on Palladia last night. Guests included Imogen Heap (wowee), Joss Stone, and "another guy who knows his way around a Stratocaster" - Eric Clapton. I haven't paid much attention to Jeff since the '70s & '80s, but what a show. This guy definitely knows his way around a Strat, and his backup band (especially the drummer) were really given a workout.

I just ordered the Blu-Ray of this show, should have it in a couple of days. A second watching of this performance had me agreeing with the critics who almost universally consider Beck to be the best of the best. Eric Clapton & Jimmy Page, no less, consider him the master of jazz/rock improvisation.

I saw an interview with JB and he referred to himself as "a gearhead who plays guitar well enough to support his car habit".

The Blu-ray is fabulous. The recording was extremely well done. And Beck is as good or better than ever.
