JBL Studio Series S38II

I am trying to locate the studio series S-centerII and S36II for rear surround. I know they haven't been made for quite some time now, but hoping to pick em up.

I currently have the S38II series for front left and right, and wanted to match up the center and rears.

I don't know much about this, but by reading today I noticed alot of information saying to match up the speakers for best sound. So since I already have the S-38II fronts, I wanted to match them with everything else.

However since they are really hard to find, what would be the next best center and rears to pick up. JBL has many newer models, but not sure what would match up the best.

Or if anyone has these speakers for sale, I would be glad to purchase them.

Thanks

Hi,

They are nice little speakers. There are two S-Centers on ebay right now, and one on Audiogon. There aren't any S38's I could spot, but there appears to be two pair of S26's on ebay, which would match your S38's quite well.

Good luck.

Thanks for looking, audiogon is new to me.

The ones on ebay and audiogon (new to me) are the S-center (original, copper colored woofers) I am looking for the S centerII which have the titanium colored woofers. And I am looking for the 3-way S36II for the surrounds as I already have the S38II for the mains.

If you don't use your speaker grills, then you probably want the II versions. But with the grills on, they are perfectly timbre matched and you can't easily tell the difference...as the two basic differences are the color of the drivers and the II version has a plated titanium tweeter as opposed to the solid titanium tweeter of the original Studio S version.

Any Studio S or SII versions will match very well together in a home theater setup.
