I am looking to upgrade my main speakers. In my price range I have narrowed down to JBL e90 or the Axiom m22. The JBL is bigger and I know how they sound but I have read nothing but great reviews about the Axiom. I listen to 52%/48% music/movies. I have a HK avr230. I have been leaning towards the Axiom and I just want to get some suggestions or personal experiences regarding these speakers. I listen to just about all kinds of music. R&B, Alternative, Jazz, Classical, Hiphop, EDM, Rock you name it.

While I can't comment on the sound of either speaker, the JBL is going to offer a much more full-range sound than the Axiom. If you want to get get full-range sound with the M22ti's, you'll probably have to get a sub. The JBLs go down to 36Hz, which would cover most musical sounds. The Axioms, OTOH, only go down to 60Hz. The speaker that Axiom makes that would be comparable in range, size, etc. the E90 would be the M60Ti. However, it's also twice the price. Still, I'd say audition them them both if you can and make the decision that way. I'm not sure about where you'd get the JBLs from, but I know that Axiom offers a nice return policy on their speakers.

I do have a 10 inch 150 watt jbl sub with satellite jbl surround speakers. I do care more about the quality and clarity of the sound. Not about how loud it can get since I live in an apartment.

I'd say order a pair of Axioms and give them a try. You have nothing to lose with their return policy.

What if I don't like my loudspeakers?
We are so sure that you will love your loudspeakers that we offer a 30-day trial period, so that you can evaluate our speakers in your home, with your own stereo or home theater equipment. If they do not meet your expectations in any way, we will refund the cost of the speakers to you.

If you decide you would not like to keep our speakers during that 30 days, please contact us to find out how to return your loudspeakers. We will provide you with the customs documents you need to return your speakers. We have locations return shipping locations in:

Canada
USA
China
England
Japan
Australia

Please note that return shipping and brokerage fees are your responsibility. Upon receipt of your loudspeakers, in their original condition, we will credit the cost of the speakers back to your credit card.

You might also want to look into stands for the M22ti's. Lastly, if you order, make sure you set up the crossover point on your subwoofer correctly. Now, I must say that I have never listened to either speaker, but I know that the Axioms are very popular. Still, the best way to make the decision is to simply try them for yourself.

I have owned the m22's along with qs8s vp 100 and hsu stf-2 powered by a yamaha v750 for about a month and a half now and am very impressed! I have a 15x15x8 room and these little babies rock! you will need a decent sub with them however but for the price they can't be beat and as jaxvon stated order them and if you don't like them just return them (you have to pay shipping of course).

the JBL's (Northridge 80's and 90's) I looked at didn't seem to be built very well. The MDF and vinyl were not of very good quality. I'd look at some other options, maybe Athena FS-2's or some close-out Infinity Alpha 50's for a similar price range.
