JBL LXE 770 speakers for $100

I have been looking around for deals on used speakers to potentially build a 2nd system to use upstairs. I'm not going to buy anything new for this system. Anything new will be purchased for my main system in the basement. I've found most used speakers to be overpriced. I found a couple of older JBL speakers that look like they are in good shape but I haven't heard them yet. The room is fairly small but big enough to host these speakers. This will be a 2 channel system.
JBL LXE 770s. Are they decent speakers and are they worth $100?

For a real tight budget - the JBL speakers would be nice

I see a beat up pair listed on eBay for $99. The seller thinks they "might" be rare. I'm not so sure about that and why they would be considered rare.

The LXE JBL on Ebay, has foam woofer surrounds and they are starting to rot. I would skip them.
Look at HLS JBL speakers and the DCM speakers.

I was hoping to avoid eBay as I wanted to hear them before purchasing. I'm definitely not buying that beat up pair but there are some decent deals on the HLS JBLs and DCMs.
