About 2 years ago I was driving home and saw these speakers on the curb. I picked them up, plugged them in and loved them! I'm down on cash, and really don't use them anymore, so I decided to sell these "JLB 4311B's." I originally listed them for $60, but after doing some research I found they were selling for a few hundred.

Is this true? What's so special about these speakers?

They were ubiquitous in recording studios(particularly home studios) in the 1980's.

If it helps, I would buy them from you for $60.

Depending on their condition they could be worth a fair amount ranging from $300-500. If you found them on the curb I assume they could be less than perfect looking.

They're actually in rather good shape. The only problem is that on both of the mids the cone is pushed in a little. I've read some places that using tape or a vacuum or even a toiler paper roll and sucking can fix this? I don't want to risk damaging them even more. And they could use a good cleaning.. ;D

Also, they were painted white, but I'm about to sand them down and restain them. They're apparently in a walnut cabinet, says one of the people who were trying to buy it from me.. I don't know if they're all like that or what, but I appreciate y'all's feedback nonetheless.

If they use the same cabinet as the L100 (which I think they do) and 12" woofer they were designed wrong if you do some searching on the net. Crossovers are designed poorly, cabinet is too small for the 12" woofer and the cabinet should not be ported.
All of the Monitor series are in high demand if you check Ebay and all the forums I know of rave about the Monitors.
