Very talented. Checking them out now.:D They remind me of Dream Theater, but not as good. They loose their concentration it seems.

So thats what you like? They sound like the crappy rock bands in my high school.

They have NO stage presence, and the vocals are a joke. Yes, that was quite a treat indeed. I love it when a bass player can't even move around. I mean, its so hard playing 3 strings, better not take a couple steps.

This band definately was in it for the money.

My high school band I was in could entertain a crowd better then these guys, and we were not even playing are own music. As a matter of fact, when we played killing in the name, we started a mosh pit. :D

Oh well, to each his own. But I feel alot better about my own now.

Right.:D You will come around. It's the way life works.
The Mars Volta is the real deal, I'll give you that. At this stage in my life, I don't think I could sit around and listen to it though.

This is my musical taste. Not Clutch. And not Jack Johnson.

This thread is about the sound quality of this disc. Period. The terms "peaceful" and "mellow" are used to describe the music on the disc.

I used to bang my head, but like I said, you will change when you get older. It happens. When I was a teen listenig to crap, all the hot girls listened to pop junk. I never, ever listened to that crap. And I don't today. And yes, I purchased this for the sound quality. And yes, I do enjoy it.

Zumbo, we have similar taste in music but I can't believe you admit to buying a CD just for sound quality. While it's nice to have a slick mix and crystal clear recordings, it's the music that matters most. :) I made that mistake once, I bought Hell Freezes Over by the Eagles. Everyone raves about how great it sounds, and it does sound great. But that DVD puts me to sleep everytime I've watched it, usually at someone else house. In fact if someone wants it send me your address along with $10 and it yours.

JJ gets a lot of air play here in Sac as he's from the area. A couple of the songs sound pretty good but basically not my style either. I can't believe he gets airplay on the local alternative station. They should keep him on the easy listening stations! I try and listen to lots of different types of music but really mellow stuff puts me to sleep. And Zumbo, who says you have to listen to mellow music as you get older? I'm fighting it all the way. :D

Oh, I'm fighting it, grey beard, fat @$$, and so on. And, whats funny, I just can't bring myself to buy Hell Freezes Over.:D To me, The Eagles are country. I never understood why they play them on Rock radio. And, many claim them to be the greatest American rock band of all time. Please. I say Aerosmith is the greatest American rock band of all time, but who am I?

God, I can't stand Aerosmith. Their olders stuff was tolerable, but the last thing I could stand by them was probably Done With Mirrors.

I don't own any. I am not much of an American band kinda guy. But, they are Rock. The Eagles certainly aren't. I do, however, dig ZZ TOP. But, they're from Texas. It's like a whole other country.:D

I checked out this song and a few others on iTunes. Not bad but not really my thing as well. Might have been twenty years ago though. ;) A couple names of the songs remind me of some X songs. Like "My First Kiss at a Public Execution" reminds me of "The worlds a mess it's in my Kiss" from Los Angeles. Sheep, check out one of the best American rock bands from 25 years ago.

it took me about a month to come around to this band. You usually won't like anything in one listen.

I went to that link, but theres nothing to listen to. But, if its anything like clutch, I'm not interested ;).

Duff, Check out Thrice. THey are much softer then The Blood Brothers, but still know how to rock, especially their older albums (Artist in the ambulance, The Illusion of safety).

The Mars Volta is another good band. I am only familiar with Frances The Mute, but its a great album. No screaming, just pure talent.
