I've been thinking of this 5:1 PMC & M&K setup....

Velodyne SPL-800R was purchased earlier this month and I love the tight accurate bass. The DSP setup was very cool too. The sub seems like an extension of my speakers. Completely transparent and seamless

Fronts and center 3 x PMC DB1+

Rears 2 x XENON Series SURROUND-25 Tripole

I would also consider going all M&K replacing the fronts with LCR-36 HG

What receiver would be a good fit for these extremely accurate quality speakers?

I was thinking of the Yamaha 1700. Is this receiver good enough?

My room is 13'X16' and WAF applies.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Most likely any reciever around $500 or above should be powerful enough. I had no problems driving my K7's and K4's (both 4ohm) from a Denon 2802. Currently, I run 4 ohm speakers from a Denon 2805 fine. In my experience, the smaller M&K speakers are not terribly power hungry. Some of the larger (S150) speakers seem to crave a little more juice. If you're not sure what will run them, call or email M&K. They have always been very helpful to me in the past.
