Issue with sound...

Hi this is my first time posting in this forum.

I have been having issues with my current set up for the past few days. I have a Onkyo HT-R494 receiver, a Sony UBP-x700 blu-ray player, and a TCL 75R617 tv. I have my blu-ray player running to my receiver and my receiver connect to my tv from the HDMI ARC. The issue I am having is when I try to play a disc in my blu-ray player, I am getting sound in the main menu of the movie and the different language audio tracks but when I switch to the movies main audio track, I get no sound at all. I have tried so many different HDMI cords and nothing is working. Can someone please help me with this issue?

So with no changes to your system, discs played properly until recently?

Yep. I turn on my player the other day and now I'm not getting any sound. I was getting Dolby Vision too but now that isn't working as well.

Just for starters I'd do a soft reset (unplug the player for a while).

I'll try that. I am getting Dolby Digital for every audio track, menu, and app on the blu-ray player. But when I try to listen to the main english audio track, it switches to PCM and I can't hear anything.

My lord I feel like such an idiot. All it took was for me to unplug it for a while and now it works. I am such a dummy. Thank you so much lovinthehd.

Modern electronics can be fussy. I have a few older Sony players...and once in a while they misbehave a bit and that usually fixes it (and think I read someone with your model, or maybe the 800, recently had issues that unplugging it cleared up too). I also see on page 25 in the manual that there's a full factory reset option, which would be what I'd do if the soft reset didn't work....

Im going to make sure that is the first thing I do if I have this issue again. Thanks so much.
