I agree.
The problem is they calling both very different screen the same name, where I come from it's called lying.
Lets leave original HUGE screens to be called IMAX and new "fake" ones to be called IMAX Digital. Then there would be no lies.

I didn't notices, but there is apparently screen door issue on the "fake" Imax screens...
Imax is simply "capitalizing" on their name much like THX has been doing for the last so many years.
Remember, not every locale can afford to dedicate a three-story theater to be a real Imax theater. For all intents and purposes, we DO come from the same place. We're lucky to be able to discern the difference. Not everyone had a "real" Imax theatre close to them.
Granted, they could come up with a more explicit way of differentiating between the "real" Imax theatres and the "Imax Lite" (my term) theatres rather than calling them "The Imax Experience" but, like i said earlier, they are still better than the standard movie screen and without them, the public would have nothing.
I'm sure in time the public will become aware of the differences between a "real" theatre and one labelled "The Imax Experience" and if it matters that much to them, they will vote with their dollars.
