Is This Enough Ventilation Space for a Parasound A31?

Do they make 13.2 prepros with features comparable to those of Marantz's?

AV7703, AV7704 : 60 W
AVP-A1HDC1: 170 - 216 W (approx. only, based on 240 VA specified by Denon, and assuming pf=0.7 to 0.9)
AVR-X4400H, X6400H, SR7012, SR8012: 110 W (X4400H idles only slightly warmer than the AV8801)
AVR-X4520, AVR-X7200WA, X8500H : 125 W
The DataSAT/ATI ATP16 is a 16CH Pre-Pro with Dirac/ATMOS/DTS:X. It looks like a simple Motherboard + Expansion Cards on the inside. It looks almost empty on the inside. So they probably didn’t include a bunch of gimmick features that DM/Yamaha love to boast.

ATI/DataSAT also go rid of most legacy inputs/outputs.

Who’s telling these Denon/Marantz engineers that they need a million legacy connectors on a $4K pre-pro these days?

What I like about the pro amps is that most of them don't require space above or under to keep them cool.

Aren't most of these class D though? I'm not sure I'd be willing to buy a class D amp for anything but a sub.

That and I've read too many reviews of noisy fans on pro amps. I'd rather figure out cooling myself if I have to, than out up with built in noisy fans. I know I can make it dead silent.

Not all pro amps have noisy fans. Crown have excellent amps which several of the members have been using with satisfaction. They don't have noisy fans but they however operate in Class D.
If you prefer a Class AB amp, QSC Audio have the excellent Digital Cinema Series of amps which are also fan cooled. Their fans are rather quiet. I am using four of those amps in my HT system. I am sitting about 6 feet from them and don't hear them. They have excellent specs but they are more expensive than the Crown XLS Series amps.
They are among the most reliable brands of amps on the market. They meet THX certification. You can't blow them up.
