Is this a good 5.1 system?

I have an EAD signature pre and a Rotel RMB-1075 amp as components and was looking for a used Infinity Intermezzo speakers. But I can not find anybody selling these( I listened to them at a friends house and love them).
I have an option to buy these barely used for $2500 plus shipping.
Martin Logan Clarity for fronts
Martin Logan Fresco for center and surrounds
Martin logan Grutto for sub
Is this a good system?
Unfortunately have no way of auditioning these before buying.
The room allows only for a 5.1 system.

I don't know how those speakers sound, but you should look up their prices new and used if possible. Then you would know how much savings you would have going used versus new.

Good? Compared to what? This is so subjective. I haven't actually heard them, but the company does have a good reputatuion. I would want to audition before purchasing though. Good luck.

I dunno about you, but I've always heard good things about Martin-Logan, but, in my eyes, here's the more significant issue: are you willing to drop $2500 on a set of speakers without ever listening to them?

What's the return policy?

Go to a store and audition them if some dealer carries them, then you can decide wether you want them. Thats your best bet.
You could also try to look for reviews, maybe some on this forum might have personal experience and can define some characteristics about the sound.

Go to any best buy that has a magnolia in it. They will have all the speakers you mentioned for you to listen. Although imo for $2500 you are getting a pretty nice system.

its a nice system. Have you heard a dipole speaker before? The mains will take some teaking to get the placement correct, and like power

let me also add that you need to check which model the fresco is(original or I) so your demo will right(the clarity is also discoed). my mains use the same cabniet and woofer as the clarity and the low range is nice and tight for me. The mains will shine with accoustic music with excellent detail and punch, the crossover setting as at 450hz so when setting up the sub play around a bit.
