The Panasonic DVD S-97 Supports HDMI, DVD-RAM, DVD-AUDIO, DVD-R,
VIDEO-CD, SVCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW.

DOES NOT SUPPORT: DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, SACD, OR DIVX.

Hope this helps.

I just looked up the new Denon players; the DVD-1930CI and the 2930CI only have HDMI 1.1, I could not find what version is used in Yamaha's DVD-S2700 and DVD-S1700, or in any of Onkyo's players.

Beware of the Denon 1930 it has a macroblocking issue....

My freind bought it and would not work on any of the TVs he had... Sony, Panasonic, and Tobisha....

Is the issue just for hdmi? I have the 1930 and it works great, but I'm connected with component video.

It was both, however, HDMI was much worse than with Component. He ended up returning the Denon and bought a Sony, and have much better results.

No DVD-A with Sony though...and DVD-A is definitely worth it.

IIRC, the PS3 is the only device with 1.3 at the moment isn't it? But it only does 2ch SACD unless you have a HDMI 1.3 receiver also and no DVD-A obviously. Sony will be releasing the BD-SP300 that will do everything except, and the winner is...DVD-A.

If I am not mistaken, the Oppo 981 will do everything, but it only has HDMI 1.1
