Hello,

I'm interested in buying a Furman P-1800 AR power conditioner/voltage regulator, and I noticed in its specs that the output voltage is 120±5V, but the description as well as a few reviews say the output is constant 120V. So, is the output really constant 120V? If so, what is the ±5V about?

Thanks a lot for any input!

+/- 5%, +/-5VAC...... what were the units?

There's a saying about electronics- "Always precise, never exact".

The large V next to the 5 indicates volts.

What that means is that it will output anywhere from 115v to 125v.
Which is the same voltage range most devices are spec'ed to operate within AFAIK (North America)

So as the input line voltage changes anywhere from 70V to 150V, it corrects the output voltage in 5 volt steps.
