Is the Faroudja chip good enough?

Hello everyone. This is my first post for the record. My question relates to buying a new mid-level ($1000-$1500) A/V receiver to go with a just purchased Pioneer PRO-1040 HD (1080I max, HDMI 1.1) Plasma TV. I have read many reviews and specs on the latest Onkyo, Yamaha, Pionner and Denon receivers. One point I am not clear on is how “good” a video chip does my new receiver need. My set up will consist of HDMI connections between the receiver, my Comcast SA explorer 4250 HDC box, a low cost progressive (I assume something in the 480-520P range) scan DVD player and my 1040 plasma. Is the Faroudja chip good off for the video inputs that I will be utilizing???? I do not anticipate any analog video inputs.
I would appreciate any comments. Thank you.
