Is that just crazy talk

I have been thinking about upgrading my Denon 2807. Is that just crazy talk or would I hear and feel the difference?

I am considering the 3808 or the 4308. I have always had a Denon so I haven't really considered Yamaha or Onkyo.

Would there be an improvement in sound moving to the 3808/4308? My system is listed below. It doesn't suck by any measure, but it's the holiday and I deserve a new toy.

I like the idea of networking my computer. I have a almost 100G of music so that's a big plus. But it is the HT sound experience that I am wondering about.

What are you thoughts, opinions, and suggestions?

Thx

DN

IMO Crazy Talk for sure. LOL

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket. I would purchase an amp or amps to power the Studio 60's instead of a new receiver. That is just my opinion.

Or new speakers.

I have a 2307 and I'm also considering upgrading to the 3808. but not because of a promise of better SQ ... but because of the more than 2 HDMI inputs. as of now, my BD and HD is directly connected to the receiver, and my DVD player is directly connected to the projector. it's more of a convenience factor for me.

Do you have an external amp?

You want to upgrade your sub? or add a second one? :)

I'm not familiar with the models that you listed, but you have a nice speaker/sub setup, so just HOW LOUD do you want to play this monster?

Merry Christmas, so go get that new receiver :) Network it to your PC and have a blast!

Yea, I like the idea of an amp . I have looked at all three brands, but i don't really know anything about amps or how it would improve the system.

Now more HDMI inputs is good, networking is good, (but i have an ipod in Aux),I'm wondering if DD+ or True HD has better sound the PCM Multi Ch? decoded from the A2. There is allso the AL 24 on all Ch.

Yes, a little OCD, but aren't we all?

Supposedly the TrueHD/DD+ are supposed to be much better quality since they're both lossless formats...
