Hi all I have a question. I own an Onkyo HT R530 receiver. It's your basic 7.1 1000 watt set up which decodes all of the standard audio formats. I have Polk Audio (RM-20 series) speakers and sub. I also own a Blue Ray player and I am an avid movie watcher. The system sounds great but, I am considering purchasing the new TX SR705 from Onkyo. I want the capability to convert PCM, DTS-HD 5.1 and Dolby TrueHD. Do you all think the sound quality is that much better? I just wanted more opinions before I dropped $700. Thanks. Brian

You will likely need to upgrade your speakers to take advantage of the new audio. This is because having a receiver that can decode the formats is pointless if your speakers aren't good enough to take advantage of them. Also, your BD player will do and pass as uncompressed PCM via HDMI or analog out which will have the same sound quality as your receiver decoding them.
