I just saw an amazing deal on a new Denon 887 receiver and I am considering upgrading from my Onkyo tx-sr602. From looking at the specs it seems that by getting the Denon I would be gaining hdmi compatibility, about 15 watts per channel and of course a new toy to play with. I can get the Denon for $130 so my question is with 15 more watts per channel will I hear any difference? I would like as much power as possible since my front speakers are pretty large and for the head room, but I don't know if it would be worthwhile to wait for any near future technologies to come out.
