Is it worth getting these speakers?

Serious advice needed here... I am thinking of getting a used pair of Yamaha NS-8HX. Has anyone heard or audition these before? I heard this pair supposed to be real detail and transparent. What is the value for these pair used nowaday? Or I should get the Yamaha NS-1000M instead. Thank you..

I've read the the NS-8HK has great build quality. So I think you should jump at a good deal for them.

Man, this is serious and thanks lsiberian for the reply. Well, Im still lost right now. My wife just blessed me with $2000 budget and I dont know what to buy. My set up is stereo right now. I have not buy the center channel or the surround. I can skip the 5.1 and get the NS-8HX, or the NS-1000 or try something not Yamaha. I was thinking of getting the Axiom M80. I heard many good reviews on them but they not really good looking. Should I try to get the B&W or Paradigm or even Def Tech. I just wanted to try something differ. And I still love Yamaha.
