Is thing always happen to you?

You are listening to your AV setup and you feel like you have the best sound of all HT AV setup in the planet. You think you finally found the right settings for your setup after years of tweaking and turning. And you want to leave that settings for the rest of your life.
Then a day or 2 or 3 days later you listen to your setup and feel like is not as detailed, warm or lack of treble or bass or too boomy, whatever. You check all the settings and all are the same nothing moved not even a smallest furniture. You play the very same inputs (cd, dvd, sacd, tv) and still can get the same best sound that you have few days ago. And your hands are getting itchy again to do more tweaking and turning.
Why is this hapenning? Is it because the room ambient temp, weather or climate are different few days ago?
Is it maybe my testestorone or blood pressure or cholesterol or blood sugar level are different on those days? :)
Maybe...it just me ........hallucinating  ....

welcome to the twilight zone.......................,,,,,

Actually, I think your next-to-last sentence contains more wisdom than you think. Our hearing can be affected by many physiological things going on in out body, and a lot of these are affected by our environment.

I'm not saying that the same thing has never happened to me. I'm not saying that it has. I am saying, pass that over here man. It's nice to share.:D

Sound quality is highly subjective and depends far more than one might imagine on factors like your mood, energy level, exposure to other sounds that day, etc. I can play a CD on my stereo and have it seem loud, and then later play another cut from the same CD and feel like I need to turn it up. Even balance seems to change (on some occasions the left speaker seems emphasized, on others the right.)

It's the ears. Ever get out of a pool with water stuck in your ear. Things sound funny for a day or two. So, now you say, I didn't just get out of a pool. But, I say, there is sinus pressure that changes on a daily basis. Along with the mood statement as well. You will find on the good sounding day, usually Friday, your spirits are lifted.:D

Now passs that thing over here, it's Friday!

similar things have happened too, Tarub. but, I don't usually start tweaking, because if I liked the sound of my system that past few months, whatever the reason I didn’t like it one day will change, and I'll go back to liking the sound of it. :)

but yes, to answer your question; a change in ambient temperature will change the decay times, but I doubt that it would be too noticeable of a change.

I have the same viewpoint from the other side of things.

My setup is NOT good. I'm waiting on my tax returns to get speakers. I currently have Cerwin Vega E-710's.

But, some days the system sounds pretty good and I'm able to listen past the equipment and get into the music, but other days it's PURE TORTURE.

I'm a pretty moody fella though and somedays I can't even listen to my favorite CD's because I hate them that day.

And I'd pass it along, but I think I killed my few remaining brain cells so I quit a long time ago.

I quit for my job fourteen years ago. Best thing I ever did. It's fun to act though. Brings back memories. Even the worst sounding system could jam back then.

That pretty much covers it all.

It is good to have a site that covers the material, physical, mental, emotional variants in life to achieve A/V nirvana.;)

Next we'll have the AH staff discuss Feng Shui for your A/V setup.

i.e What positions increase energy flow, decrease EMI and ensure optimal energy transfer to your system :)

Hey... I have some Shakra stones that can fix your problem. You just gently place them on each of your speakers and this will greatly improve fidelity and consistancy. I'll sell them to you at wholesale prices... only $185 each... and that's in Canadian funds! Great deal, if ya ask me.

Now, I just have to go out into my garden and check the inventory...:p

...yes, I am being sarcastic. Please pass it this way. Atta boy!:D

There was a time when each time I bought a new component, I thought it was perfect. I listened and listened, obsessively, until I found some imperfection. Once I found the imperfection, it grated on me until I had to do something to fix it. Buy a new component, start the cycle over again. Fortunately they developed a medicine that cures this...it's just the twitches, nausea, double vision, occasional memory lapses that it causes...

You really thinks so? Why others says it happens to them?
