Is Axiom speaker wire any good?

I’m in the market for 250 feet of decent speaker wire, and was interested to find out if anyone has any comments about Axiom’s speaker wire. I’m currently leaning toward Belden’s 12-gauge 5000UE, but since I’m hoping to buy a 7.1 set-up of Axiom speakers in the spring, I was wondering if their speaker wire was worth buying or not?

Their speaker wire is good quality, oxygen free copper wire that comes terminated. It is high quality but no better than other competitor's products on the same line. Check out Bluejeanscable.com and impactacoustics.com for other high quality pre-terminated cable. You can buy the cable yourself and do the terminations with a minimum of effort (I did), but for ease and in many cases sheer astetics manufacturer's ables are hard to beat. Just shop aroundand see who's got the best price. Also Axiom might provide a discount if you're buying everything together. One thing about the sellers I listed is that they are no-nonsense, no-gimick retailers that charge a fair price for the product. There are others out there as well and I'm sure some forum members will list them for you. Good luck and let us know what you think of the Axioms

Belden wire

Check out Westlake Electronic Supply for good deals on bulk Belden cable sold by the foot. I like the 5000UP because it has a higher strand count making it a little more flexible than the UE version. This stuff is CL2 rated so it is appropriate for in-wall wiring. If the cables will be exposed, you can dress them up with techflex.

Cool. I read that the 5000UE was a little stuff, now I know to look for the 5000UP. Westlake seems to have it, and they ship to Canada. If I decide to go with Beldon, I'll certainly order it from them. Thanks!

Is any of this wire visible? If not, you may check out low voltage landscape wire and compare the costs. If looks are not an issue, and the gauges are comparable, cost is the only real difference:D

Unfortunately, due to the room's layout, some of the speaker wire will be seen, so I'd like something dark--black would be best. I'm hoping this will be the last bundle of speaker wire I buy for a long, long time. My wife and I are moving into a new house, and I don't ever want to move again after this.

That is what the tech flex is for. It comes in any color. Add some nice banannas and it will look like you bought those $100/meter esoteric cables.
