I also have an Altec Lansing device... lots here don't want that either due to poor quality. Where does your priority rank?

Well I'm buying it as a gift for someone who listens mostly to poetry and classical music. As far as price, I'd like to keep it well under $500. Again, it will be stored on a nightstand so I don't want to buy anything too large. It also needs to have a built-in alarm clock. I noticed the Zeppelin doesn't have one, which is why I'm mentioning it. Thanks again.
