I have had my Panasonic SA-HE100 for several years now and have been thinking about cleaning the interanals for awhile. Whats the best way to clean the collected dust out of a reciever. I have an airbrush, but I don't know how delicate the components are. I was thinking in the 8psi to 10psi. Would it be better to get a fine paint brush? Are there any components to avoid alltogether while cleaning? This reciever has been very good to me and I see no reason to get rid of it. Any help would be appreaciated.

you could probbably get away with closer to 100psi if you wanted to, just as long as your not blowing over componets. Most of the stuff inside electronics isint super delicate. however some are. I use a paintbrush to clean things when they need it, followed by blowing the loose dust out. Airbrush sounds fine. Make sure you unplug the unit first. You'll want to make sure not to move any of the componets when your cleaning inside, There are some things that can affect performance by simply moving them.

I've got a mini Shopvac I use to clean out my PC case, keyboard, and AV equipment. Sometimes if you open up your equipment, you tear the warranty sticker and could void the warranty - so check to see if you have one first. But it's better to take off the top to blow out the dust. Otherwise you're just moving it around (unless of course you have a mini Shopvac nearby ;) ).
