I agree with you that the goal in making speakers cabinets is to make a cabinet that contributes nothing to the sound you are hearing through its own resonances.

Could this be why Pioneer speakers usually appeal to the guys at audiokarma who are hung up on 70's and 80's Japanese gear? Sonus Faber makes speakers that use the cabinet resonances to "improve?" the sound. I'm in the camp that wants cabinets to be as inert as possible.:cool:
