Interconnect cable...

As I am reading and trying to understand how to choose cable for making my own interconnects I would appreciate some assistance/guidance from those here who know this stuff.

I was looking at possibly using Dayton Pro Microphone cable. Its available at Parts Express...Part Number 100-220.

Would this make a decent audio RCA interconnect?

If you go to mcmelectronics.com and do a search for high resolution, they have a double shielded cable (coax-syle) that I've had great success with using for analog interconnects....and it's price is very cheap as well. About $35/50ft. Keep in mind you need twice the run length of cable for an interconnect PAIR.....I screwed up like this a while back, being impatient and all

Canare has a cable, something 77s, that is basically a stranded version of their rg-6 cable, which I just ordered some of to experiment with as a digital audio/video cable.

when i made mine i think i used belden 1694 due to great specs. also used canare connectors (ordered from www.westlake-electronic.com).

Was the Belden RG6 flexible enough for the interconnects? Have wondered how stiff that would be.

depends how flexible you need it. if you're going to need it to make tight turns, i wouldn't buy it. however, it works for most applications. if you're worried about that, the 1505 is supposedly much more flexible and still offers great measurements.

I just made mine and used all Steren parts . They have a great crimper and even though it took a few test crimps, the cable came out nice. I also called the mfgr and talked to their QC guy, becuase I had a question on the 200-066 connectors. He tried a few with my exact materials and gave me a few pointer.
