Integrated amp to pair with DF-661.

Hello all,

I am looking for suitable amp for my vintage Velodyne DF-661.
I've tried to drive them with what I had on my desk - Denon PMA-50, but by going louder quickly run into amp clipping and rumbling from woofer.

Therefore I would like to find appropriate amp. Speakers are 6ohm, recommended amplifier power 75-300w. (although hifi-classics review thinks they are really 4ohm).
The audio source will be digital, lossless audio via USB. Rarely would like to use Bluetooth. Should be compact, no fans. Therefore I think, I need a digital integrated amp, but in most cases they are low powered.

I've found so far:
1) Peachtree Nova300 (or Nova150)
2) Klipsch Powergate
3) NAD D 3045
4) other ... Hegel H190 and Auralic Polaris, but they are too expensive for me.

On the other hand, I have a feeling that I am missing something. Maybe such speakers need a) much powerful amp (or bi-amp) b) analog type amp + DAC?

I need a direction, will appreciate your feedback.

Class D isn't digital. You might need an integrated amp with a DAC, or even an avr could work. What about bass management, no sub? Bi-amping would be silly. How loud do you listen and at what distance? Your budget seems fairly high, but just what is it?

Thanks for response ;)

- yes, there will be a sub in a short while
- I listen mostly on quiet levels, but sometimes go loud. The room is rather small, but it can change
- budget? I would like to fit in 700 USD, but will consider going up to 1200 USD if I'll see the value.

Perhaps take a look at the Outlaw RR2160 receiver

Maybe a NAD 375BEE. A bit pricey but lots (150 wpc into 4 and 8 ohms) with some serious headroom.
