I am trying to find the best and simplest way to setup dual Subs in my two channel only system.
Can someone with expirence get me started?
I have REW a Mic and an external soundcard (M Audio Mobile Pre II).

OK this is tricky to get perfect but once it is done its worth it...

First I would tackle crossing, what are you using to cross the mains to the subs? Mini DSP works very well for around $100...

Cross your mains as low as you can so if you like how your mains sound at 50 cross them there, {checking there specs to see where they fall off can be helpful}.

Next placement, I would start with where they look good and dont interfere with your mains placement which is much more important...

Then balance them, using a db meter play a test tone and balance 1 at a time to a certain level, then play them both and record their level together, then play your mains with no subs and put them at the same level, fine tune to your tastes after that...

I would run them both summed, so you have left and right going to each sub not a left sub and a right sub...

Good luck, you will never not use subs again, lol...

OK I am using two Yamaha pro eq's for the xover control. The mains and Subs are crossed at 80hz.
My speakers are big horns and I am driving them with a 2wpc amp. The room is 16x13x8 with bass and traps and frz panels.

So do you want stereo subs or room dependent ?

I am not sure what you mean please explain?
Meaning are the subs going to be co located to each main and EQd or are their placement going to be in the room to smooth bass response based on measurements.

Well they are about 1/4 the way from the front wall in front of the mains because they are corner horns and have to be in the corner. They are facing each other about 13 feet apart, they will be crossed at 80hz and so will the mains.

Did rew show you any suck outs from the seating position? If so at what frequency /s.

Sounds like your pretty good, unless you EQd very heavy ie more than 3dbs. Then you might want to consider different placement in lieu of EQ

As far as the placement goes the subs have to stay where they are that's it, I can not move them so I have to live with the best I can do from that position which I think sound really good and the curves look good too. There is not very much Eq in the low end just enough to get a nice curve.
