T33,

This may soind like a sily question, do you have a DHCP server but want the Integra to use a fixed IP? I only ask because most DHCP servers will issue a fixed IP to a particular MAC address if you set them up to do so.
No, I didn't have a DHCP server active when I started since I use fixed IPs in my network. I tried to set up the TX-NR5000E (Uses the same software as the RDC 7.1) to use a fixed IP by setting the DHCP to disable then put in a IP no, netmask etc and finally pressing save network settings. After that I powercycled the receiver and the settings was lost. Guess anybody with a RDC 7.1 or other component using the same software can test this to see if it works for them.

Ok, a week has passed and still no answer. Has anybody ever been able to contact Integra or Onkyo support by email?

I have tried to get some answers from Onkyo Europe to, that mail was sent over 2 weeks ago. Still no answer, well I got an answer on my second mail saying that they are still looking into it (at least that give me some hope for an answer).

About six months ago I had a problem with my Onkyo receiver. I called the Onkyo US distributer and talked to tech support right away.

Yes, I guess they can't escape if you call them directly. I've called the Swedish distributor and after a couple phone calls to their service center they said that I have to speak to Onkyo Europe and that is the status at the moment. I have both mailed and called them but they have no answers to my questions yet...

Tommy,

Your request has been forwarded to our EU tech support. If you need to contact them in the future please visit them at this link, http://www.eu.onkyo.com/.

Version 1.09 upgrade is available!

Firmware upgrades became available July 26 2005 for the RDC -7.1 (version 1.09) and RDV- 1.1 (version 1.23) which Integra says addresses various iLINK issues. I will be installing it to hopefully address the SACD iLink noise. I'll post my finding asap.

Ive been running 1.09 for a couple of weeks now. It fixed a tiny skip issue with my Pioneer player over I-Link and I can now consider I-Link playback to be bug free. I do hear noise in the background on certain SACD recording but not all so I can only guess it present in certain recordings rather than being a problem with my unit.

Jesse, Do you have the SACD noise problem?

Firmware rdc 7.1

Hi,,,

Glad to find other RDC 7.1 users,
Nice product,, though the tech spec and the manual actually leaves
one wanting more..,,

Anyway,, I saw the mentioning of an update to 1.09,
anyone with info as to "how" to obtain it..??
For a while,, integraresearch.com actually had a download page for firmware when the 1.08 was released,, but,, it's gone..

Thankfull for any input..

Dealers can download it from the download site, they can then pass it to savvy end users (Unsure what the official rules are on this) or upgrade locals for them. Apparently the updates were removed from IR and Onkyo sites because some users managed to kill their units; requiring return to a service centre.

I had to hard reset my unit to get it to accept the 1.09 firmware (This is because of the I-Link firmware updates and is not normal for most firmware upgrades).

Nice to know you got one Emerson. I remember trying to convince you it was worth it near begninning of the year at another AV forum where people keep posting Car Turbo questions :) I thought I was the only one to have ordered UPS to drag it across the pond.

Yeah,, Guess it's worth it,, But,, I really tried NOT to buy it, Im still upset with Integra
for not fullfilling their "talk" about the iLink for the RDC 7.0 and the DV-939 player.

Still, it IS a nice unit,, can't say that I've seen that much competition that equals it,
XLR, HDMI, iLink, etc..etc,, it's more or less "everything".....

Compare DACS RDC 7 / RDC 7.1

I'm looking at a used upgraded 7. The DACs on the front channels are TI/balanced With the remaining DACS are Analog Devices/ single ended. I tried picking through the 7.1 review (thank you for the exellent work by the way Gene and the others at A'holics) my understanding is that the new configuration uses Wolfson are they dual diff or single ended. Also just to clarify all channels have the same DACs and config, correct?

The RDC-7.1 has a full set of single ended Wolfson DACs, service manual does not show any dual diff config.
