Integra AVR suddenly won't cool down after shutdown??

So my AVR has a cooling fan unit on top to help cool it. Once shut down the temp eventually drops to room temperature. However 3 days ago I noticed the temp was at 85F. first thing in the morning and the cooling fans were on.. it's been this way for 3 days now. I can tell the heat is coming from the transformer. Any ideas why this would suddenly happen??

29C isn't particularly warm or worrisome for electronics or even people, seeing as how it's significantly below body temperature. I would recommend you set the temperature threshold of your external fan unit to no less than 40C (104F).

Is OSD (On Screen Display) on for all zones? Make sure everything is turned off, not just the Main zone.

Worst case scenario the transformer is going/has gone bad.
I'd unplug it from the mains when not in use.

That's a good suggestion. I had issues with the other 2 zones staying on after I powered the main zone off but the display should show that.

Make sure HDMi pass through is off too

Are you using a universal remote? You would need to add Power Off commands for all zones because the AVR manufacturers commands are discrete.

If it's Energy Star rated, it's supposed to use less than one Watt when powered off.

I was using the cable box remote, so yes. I don't use the extra zones, so I powered them off with the front panel and disabled them in the setup menu. Hasn't been an issue since then.

highfigh was right!....zone 2 was on. weird, never had that happen before.
